Private Revelations
What are private Revelations? The progress in deepened understanding as the result of the growing light of the Holy Spirit, through saints's works, visions, apparitions, relics, miracles, religious studies and exorcisms; knowing that church bishops have the final say in its veracity.
But let Jesus Himself tell us how we should approach private Revelations:
(1) Be wise when reading:
“Listen to Me, for I am speaking to you now as I have spoken to you in the past. You were not deceived, and any inaccuracies in what you wrote came from your imagination, not from the Evil One, and these inaccuracies are few...You will know when the Evil One is trying to counterfeit My words to you by the unrest that they will cause. And you will also know when certain elements in our conversations come from your own imaginings, fears, or desires.”
(Jesus to a Benedict monk, InSinuJesu book, year 2010).
(2) Increase your faith by them:
“My words, which you hear from me frequently in spiritual vision, are like a good drink satisfying to those who thirst for true love; second, they warm the cold; third, they cheer the troubled; fourth, they heal those who are weak in soul.”
(Jesus to Saint Bridget, revelations, year 1350).
(3) Mock at your own peril:
“If anyone reads it through vain curiosity and a desire to pry into My secrets to censure and mock them, I will assurely humble and cast him down shamefully.”
(Jesus to Saint Gertrude, year 1290).
(4) Private revelations are unique and non-repeatable:
"God speaketh once, and repeateth, not the selfsame thing the second time."
(Old Testament, Job 33:14 Douay-Rheims).
Why should our focus be on Mary?
“Jesus is obscured because Mary is kept in the background.”
(Father Frederick Faber, 1863, Louis De Montfort book).
"He who rejects My Mother rejects Me!"
(Jesus said in San Nicolas, Argentina ,Vatican approved Marian apparition, 1985).
“Everyone who calls on your name [Mary] and has hope in you along with a purpose of amendment for his sins shall be given these three things [repentance, penance and atonement] as well as the kingdom of Heaven. Your words are so sweet to me that I cannot deny you anything you plead for, for you want nothing other than what I want. You are indeed like a shining and burning flame by which the extinguished lights are enkindled and the burning lights are strengthened, for by your love which arose in my heart and drew me to you, those who are dead in sin will come to life again and those who are tepid and black like smoke will become strong in my love.”
(Jesus to Saint Bridget, approved by the Vatican, 1360):
“The sincere devotion to the very pure and very immaculate Mother of God is the door to salvation and to interior life... even though it seems that the soul has affectionately attached to the Blessed Virgin more than to God, if the soul is faithful, she will be well instructed in the ways of grace, and this tenderness, if it is holy as it should be, will never fail to bring the soul to an intimate union with Our Lord Jesus Christ, and I dare say singularly, because the Most Holy Mother of God, having no point of view in herself, cannot hold back any creature for her... You have to start with the Mother, then herself will lead you to her divine Son, she has the most power to do so, and the know-how to produce it in us... the one who conceived Jesus by the operation of the Holy Spirit... One should not be afraid to give too much nor to exceed the duties that are given to her, since nothing remains in her and everything returns to Jesus and in Jesus... if I could express the benefits of this devotion: it opens the mind and makes people understand ineffable things about the sacred Mysteries, about the ways of grace, teaches us to pray and mortifications, supports us and consoles us in sorrows, preserves us from falling into temptations, drives out our enemies visible and invisible, and defends us against their malicious designs.”
(Saint Mechtilde of the Blessed Sacrament, 1614-1698)
“John the Baptist appeared to her and said: "The crown signifies that she is the Queen and Lady and Mother of the King of angels; the hair hanging down signifies that she is an unstained and pure virgin; the sky colored mantle signifies that all worldly things were as dead in her heart and will; the golden tunic signifies that she was fervent and burning in the love of God, both inwardly and outwardly. Her Son, Jesus Christ, placed seven lilies in her crown, and between the lilies he placed seven gems. The first lily is her humility; the second lily is her fear; the third, her obedience; the fourth, her patience; the fifth, her steadfastness; the sixth, her kindness, for she is kind and gives to all who beg of her with love and a will to amend; the seventh, her mercy in difficulties, for in whatever difficulty a man may be in, if he calls on her with all his heart, he will receive mercy and help from her because she is full of compassion and mercy. Between these shining lilies her Son placed seven precious gem stones. The first gem is her incomparable virtue, for there is no virtue in any other spirit or in any other body, which she does not have in a higher fashion. The second gem is her perfect purity, for the Queen of the kingdom of Heaven was so pure that from her first entrance into the world up to the final day of her death, not a single stain of sin was ever to be found in her; and none of all the devils could ever find enough impurity in her to fit on the head of a needle point. She was truly the most pure, for it was not fitting for the King of glory to lie in any vessel but the purest, chosen before all angels and men and more pure than they. The third gem was her beauty, for God is praised constantly by his saints for his Mother's beauty, and all the holy angels and holy souls are filled with joy over her beauty. The fourth precious gem in the crown is the Virgin Mother's wisdom, for she is filled with all divine wisdom in God and all wisdom is fulfilled and perfected through her. The fifth gem is her power and might, for she is so powerful and strong with God in her that she can subdue anything that has been created. The sixth gem is her clarity, for she shines so clear that she even illuminates the angels, whose eyes are clearer than light, and the devils do not dare to look upon her clarity. The seventh gem is the fullness of every delight and joy and all spiritual sweetness, for her fullness is such that there is no joy that she does not increase, no delight that is not made fuller and more perfect by her and through the blessed vision of her, for she is filled with grace and mercy above all the holy saints. She is the most pure vessel in which the Bread of angels laid and in which all sweetness and all beauty is found. Between the seven lilies in her crown, her Son placed these seven gemstones. Therefore may you, her Son's bride, honor and praise her with all your heart, for she is in truth worthy of all praise and all honor with her Son!"”
(Saint Bridget’revelations, 1360):
“I am between God and men. No one can obtain anything from My Father unless he obtain it through Me. Now, I have placed My Mother between men and Me, and I grant nothing to men save by My Mother, and in consideration of her. Let the sinner address himself to Mary, let him obtain her protection, and he is forgiven. He who is at peace with Me is at peace also with My Father ; in like manner he who possesses the friendship of My Mother possesses My friendship also. Ask of Mary all the graces which you need, and she will obtain them for you; recognising your unworthiness, address yourself to Mary, and Mary will pray for you. All the graces which God distributes are in Me as in an immense reservoir ; I cause them to flow into Mary as into another reservoir ; and you must go and draw them thence. A grace is asked for, My Father consents, I grant it, and Mary gives it. If you wish to be always received by Me, pray Mary to present you, or present yourself in the name of Mary, begging Me to receive you, not for your own merits, but in consideration of Mary. When you cannot come to Me, go to Mary ; beseech her to intercede for you; I shall behold you with pleasure at her feet. Go to Mary in temptations, dangers, perils; by so doing you will be secure of victory. To be in the hands and under the protection of Mary is to be secure of your salvation.”
(Jesus said to Catholic nun Marie Lataste, 1822-1847)
“Pray using My Mother's Rosary, even when you feel that your prayer is empty or mechanical, or when you are beset by distractions. The decision to pray pleases My Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of My Mother. Turn to My Mother in every need of yours... I have made her the Immaculate Mediatrix of all My graces. All that I would give you, I want you to have through her. She is attentive to every detail of your life. Nothing of what you need or suffer is insignificant to her, and this because I have given her a Heart capable of mothering My entire Mystical Body and each of its members from the greatest to the least... Honour her presence in your life. Do not forsake the prayer of her Rosary; it binds you to her. Do not neglect the Ave Maris Stella and the other acts of love for her that she has asked of you or that the Holy Spirit has inspired you to offer her. Such little means are of immense, incalculable value in My eyes and in hers.”…“Make the writings of My little Josefa known to the priests I will show you. They will find in them a remedy, a comfort, and a source of confidence in My merciful love. “
(Jesus to a Benedict Monk, In Sinu Jesu book, 2007-2014, approved messages)
“O tender and loving Mother, most prudent Virgin, Mother of my Redeemer, I come to salute you today with all the love that a child can feel for its mother. Yes, I am indeed your child, and because I am so helpless I will take the fervor of the Heart of your Divine Son; with Him I will salute you as the purest of creatures, for you were framed according to the wishes and desires of the thrice-holy God. Conceived without sin, exempt from all corruption, you were ever faithful to the impulses of grace, and so your soul accumulated such merit that it was raised above all other creatures. Chosen to be the Mother of Jesus Christ, you kept Him as in a most pure sanctuary, and He who came to give life to souls, Himself took life from you, and received nourishment from you. O incomparable Virgin! Immaculate Virgin! Delight of the Blessed Trinity, admiration of all angels and saints, you are the joy of Heaven. Morning Star, Rose blossoming in springtime, Immaculate Lily, tall and graceful Iris, sweet-smelling Violet. Garden enclosed kept for the delight of the King of Heaven ... you are my Mother, Virgin most prudent, Ark most precious containing every virtue! you are my Mother, most powerful Virgin, Virgin clement and faithful! you are my Mother, O Refuge of sinners! I salute you and rejoice at the sight of the gifts bestowed on you by the Almighty, and of the prerogatives with which He has crowned you! Be blessed and praised, Mother of my Redeemer, Mother of poor sinners! Have pity on us and cover us with your motherly protection. I salute you in the name of all men, of all saints and all angels. Would that I could love you with the love and fire of the Seraphim, and this is too little to satisfy my desires ... and to render you filial homage constant and pure for all eternity. O incomparable Virgin, bless me since I am your child. Bless all men! Protect them and pray for them to Him who is almighty and can refuse you nothing. Adieu, tender and sweet Mother; day and night I salute you, in time and for eternity.”
(Jesus said to nun Josefa Menendez in 1915, pray to Mary like so)
The Holy Virgin promised that when prayed with an open and repentant heart, the rosary would win us the Lord's forgiveness for our sins and free our souls from guilt and remorse. She also promised that over time, the rosary would develop within us a deep understanding of why we sin, and that knowledge would give us the wisdom and strength to change or remove any internal flaws, weaknesses of character, or personality faults causing unhappiness and keeping us from enjoying the joyous life God intended for us."
(The Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows, St. Bridget)
“Never fail to recognize the mystical presence of My Mother in the Mass. She is there at your side. She rejoices in your distribution of the fruits of My redemption, and participates in it. The hands of every priest are, in some way, held in My Mother's hands. She acts with the priest. Her participation in the Holy Sacrifice renewed upon the altar is silent but efficacious. Her presence at the altar, though invisible, is real. My Church has long acknowledged the presence of My Mother at every offering of My Holy Sacrifice, but it is now more than ever necessary that priests should deepen their awareness of this most precious gift. She is the Coredemptrix. Just as My Sacrifice is renewed mystically in every Mass, her offering, her participation in My offering, is also renewed.”
